9 Fun and Meaningful Activities for You and Your Baby

The holidays are over and everyday life is slowly returning to a more regular rhythm. Days spent with your special little person can be filled with many experiences to share and precious moments to enjoy. In addition to precious routine activities such as feedings, changing and bedtime, here are some ideas for spending fun and meaningful time with your newborn:

  1. Cuddles: Newborns love to be held and cuddled. Spend time holding him/her gently and whispering affectionate words. This will strengthen the bond between the two of you from the very first days;
  2. Stories: Talk to your baby and tell them what you are doing, even if it is something as simple as brushing your hair or changing your diaper. The sound of your voice will keep him/her company and over time will help him/her become familiar with daily activities;
  3. Exercises and games: as your baby grows, offer appropriate stimuli and games that help his/her development. At this link you can find many interesting activities to propose from 0 to 12 months;
  4. Relaxing Massages: Massage by gently caressing your newborn with a delicate cream (or even without anything!) can be a pleasant experience for both of you. There are many newborn massage courses that you can attend together, look online or ask friends and acquaintances to find one in your area!
  5. Listen to music: Music has a positive impact on the cognitive development of boys and girls, and can help them to mark the moments of the day. Put on quiet music to relax, or dance and sing along with your little one during playtime;
  6. Reading stories: Reading is a wonderful way to build a positive relationship with your baby and it's never too early to start! At first, choose short books, with clear pictures and simple texts, like those included in the Mini Library box ;
  7. Outdoor walks: a walk can be relaxing for both of you. Fresh air and light can be good for both you and your little one, avoiding the hottest hours and direct sun, and preferring routes away from smog;
  8. Photographing Special Moments: Capture special moments with your newborn through photography. They will be precious memories to cherish forever;
  9. Connect with other parents: Sharing experiences and advice with other parents can be extremely helpful and even therapeutic. Contact your local family planning center to ask for information, or child care centers, and try to attend a meeting.

Remember that every baby is unique, so listen to their needs and enjoy every moment. They will grow quickly, and these precious moments will be treasures to keep in your heart. To keep track of your baby's needs, take a look at our Precious Daily Life Journal !
