Of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN Agenda 2030 SDGs, which we discussed inell’article on CSR as a factor of competitivenessmany relate to natural resources.
Fundamental resources for our life such as clean water, pure air and safe food, which can only exist in a balanced ecosystem in which human activities integrate with the natural dimension in a sustainable way capable, that is, of satisfying the needs of generations current without compromising those of future generations.).
For this to be possible, our economic and social system must give natural heritage a role of central importance and, since the climate emergency is no longer just a topic to discuss but a reality to live with, there are no alternativese: it is more and more urgent to learn to live within the limits of a single Planet 1.).
These considerations alone should be enough to push anyone to worry about the environmental impact of any activity. However, it is useful to reiterate that a responsible approach to the environment is also strategic for building value over time and winning from the point of view of the company's profitability and competitivenesssa (2: investing in the reduction of the consumption of resources and polluting emissions, for example, translates into a lowering of energy costs and waste elimination, in the efficiency of the purchase and management of raw materials, as well as in a lower need for remedial measures against pollution .nto.

Action is needed on several fronts: the production and consumption system, the management of natural resources, climate change. In addition to suggesting concrete actions, such as increasing the supply from renewable energy sources, reducing consumption and decreasing the use of harmful substances and the production of waste through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse, the SDGs encourageo a sharing information so that everyone, everywhere, has the relevant information and awareness for sustainable development and a lifestyle in harmony with nature (3..
In general, communication, involvement and sharing improve relationships between people, both inside and outside the company, helping to build a climate of trust, a fundamental ingredient for achieving objectives and long-term stability. Furthermore, responsibility also means giving an account of one's actions to the interested interlocutors: workers, investors, consumers. It is mainly towards them that the directors of the company are required to answer for their economic, social and environmental conduct through transparent communication, but not only. The growing demand for sustainability has pushed important companies to achieve environmental certifications on products and processes, communicating their commitment clearly also through social reporting documents such as the sustainability report or the environmental income statement. These tangible traces help to monitor objectives and results, but above all to share them with consumers and with other companies forde per “encourage a general movement towards sustainability” (4..
The capabilities, resources and complexity of a multinational are certainly not the same as those of an SME, especially if it is just born. What happens in the small reality of Tilla Baby Box is that we try to think in terms ofenvironmental sustainability even for the little things, so that responsible choices accompany us in the trend of continuous improvement towards sustainable business development. There is no need to move large volumes of goods to, for example, avoid unnecessary packaging and choose single-material elements that are easily recyclable or compostable in domestic recycling.ca.
Businesses, large or small, have enormous power - and therefore a huge responsibility - in influencing people's lives.e. By assuming a central role in the promotion and dissemination of useful information and responsible behavior, they will be able to contribute in a fundamental way to the achievement of the common goal of a more informed and aware population.e, able not only to live within the limits of a single planet, but to teach future generations to do the same.
